Lloyd Ney was born March 8,1893 in Friedensburg Pa Ney was awarded the Cresson Travelling Scholarship in 1917 which he used following a brief tour in Europe. While Travelling in Europe he was exposed to and admired the works of Pablo Pacasso, Wassily Kindinsky and William Blake. This abstract was done in 1961. Sadly Lloyd Ney past away May 10th 1965. His works can still be seen at the Michener Art Museum.   « Less

Vintage micro mosaic brooch. Unusually, it depicts a bird among foliage as a centre piece, and a circular border with small medallions. Dating from the 1930s or earlier, this would be made with tiny Venetian glass tiles mounted into a base metal surround. Brooch measures 32 mm diameter. It has some losses to the tiling: one little medallion is absent from the outside border, and also from the abdomen of the bird.   « Less

Three lobed cruet set, decorated in the Dutch Delft manner with blue sailing boats and cottage. Made by Royal Doulton, in their Norfolk pattern. Set consists of a separate pepper pot, and an open salt and an open mustard compartment. (Possibly the original had a separate salt and mustard pot also, but it is very usable with these as open carriers). Carries the British registration number for the period circa 1912. Set measures 9.7 cm diameter and 6 cm high (3.7/8 inches by 2.3/8 inches). Excellent condition.   « Less

Four matching antique nautical three-light Spanish Revival figural sconces, cast in bronze, c. 1920s. Each sconce features the three ships from Columbus' first voyage to the Americas in 1492, with their names inscribed beneath their hulls. The Pinta, the Santa Maria and the Nina sail on an ocean with beautifully detailed waves and maintain their original polychrome finish; the sconce's three lights perch behind the scene. Gothic Revival details, with stylized fleur-de-lis and a hammered finish can be found throughout. These wall lamps are in excellent condition with working switches; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation.
