A stunning pair of antique brass sconces with their original glass shades, dating from the 1920’s. Each sconce has a patera-style backplate with foliate detailing and a bead-and-reel band encompassing its perimeter. A baluster shaped arm extends from the center to support an understated shade holder. The pulvinated shade features a wide foliate band with four simple crosses at its bottom. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; the glass is in very good antique condition with a few chips around the edges as shown. The sconces have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation, and they provide a functioning switch. Five scrolling bands cluster beneath the top finial and swell before connecting to each curled arm supporting a leafy bobeche. The chandelier is ornamented with foliate motifs throughout and finishes in a dangling acanthus-style bottom finial. The tiered chandelier base features a stylized checkerboard pattern and is accented with alternating silver blocks. Underneath, five ziggurat- style arms protrude from the domed lower base, each supporting a bobeche with a ziggurat border and spike finial.
