Attributed to England circa 1895-1920. The single-light lantern consists of a four sided box-like pierced metal frame holding inside panes of clear, amber, red, and purple stained pressed glass. No cracks at all in the four glass sides, which shows a real dedication to preservation by an up-scale series of owners. The frame is made of cast metal that has been nickel plated. The top and bottom of the frame are encircled by a band of fanciful rococo-style pierced repoussé decorations. Decoration has foliate scrolls springing from the top and bottom corners of the frame. The lower scrolls support a pendant acorn, while the upper scrolls decorate the central pole with the hanging loop. Note the plethora of classical figures, faces, and old world decor. Simply a feast of motif activity. This hall lantern has been completely re-wired in our UL shop with a central new socket and new wire. Measurements: The overall height is 26”. Vintage 1950s baby's plate. Made in England by Grimwade's Royal Winton, with Pip the Panda as the decoration. "Pip takes his friends sailing" - with pig, rabbit, ducks and a fish. Heavy earthenware body. Very stable so a young child can't tip it over. Measures 4 cm high by 17 cm diameter (1.5/8 inches by 6.3/4 inches). Usual crazing to the body, minor faint staining to rim, very good condition overall. This is one of the most delightful baby's plates I have had for sale.   « Less

Marvelous antique Art Nouveau pan style brass chandelier dating from the 1910’s, adorned in an egg and dart motif interspersed with crests. The chandelier begins with a fluid, foliate finial and continues on to the pan shaped body where four shade holders are hung by foliate loops. The underside of the fixture has a gadrooned center and is finished by a tassel finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the rims; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all necessary attachments for modern installation. Early 20th century rose gold bracelet - curb link, 9ct hollow gold links. Each link is stamped 9C. Fitted with safety chain. Comes in a little Harrods box, looks early 20th century also. Bracelet is 19.5 cm long (7.3/4 inches). The links are 9 mm wide (3/8 inch). Condition is very good - one end of safety chain needs to be fixed to the opposite side of the bracelet (currently both ends are on same side). Wear to one link near the clasp. Unusual cameo brooch, showing a front-on domed portrait of a young woman with ringlets and beads in her hair. (Cameos are normally carved more in the profile position). Genuine shell cameo, with a mount of 9ct rose gold. The edges of the mount are scalloped and engraved with a scroll design. Large brooch, measuring 53 mm by 44 mm (2.1/9 inches by 1.3/4 inches). It has a small loop at the top suitable for attaching a safety chain. Full British hallmark to the rear, for Birmingham, 1990. Made in the Victorian style. Pretty vintage cameo brooch or pin - oval, depicting a woman and child sitting in a hilly background with a large bunch of flowers. The elegant simple mount is 18ct yellow gold. Fitted with a safety chain. Has a fold-up loop at the top, so could be used as a pendant. Stamped 750 to the rear. Also has a maker's plaque stamped 495 NA. Probably Italian made. Pretty birthday card with punched work lace effect in the paper, and a red transparent panel with the birthday wishes printed in gold. Gold detailing also to the paper lacework surround to the panel. It reads: "The Birthday. All hail to the day of your birth - on this morn. For your health and prosperity always I pray. May your life be all roses and free from a thorn, and may you have Many Happy Returns of the day. And though years roll by with unvarying round, and old age creeps on as we travel our way, yet still with a love that life only can bound, I'll wish you a happy return of the day." Card is half self enveloped. I have no idea what the red panel is made of - sort of thickish cellophane. Card measures 125 mm by 81 mm (about 5 inches by 3.1/4 inches). Has some damage to one "lace" panel, otherwise very good condition. It has the faint remains of an English design registration mark under one fold - this is the diamond mark used from 1842-1867. The date letter is not really readable, but it could be V, which is 1850.   « Less

Hand made engagement card with punched work lace effect of two columns and scrolls in the paper , and two fine gauze-backed panels with cut-outs of flowers, and hand painted pieces all forming a sort of collage including a butterfly and a bird bearing a note. Underneath the bottom rose is an applied little scroll reading "Name the Wedding Day". Card measures 14 cm by 9.5 cm (about 5.1/2 inches by 3.3/4 inches). Very good condition. Antique Victorian Valentine's card with punched work lace effect in the paper, and a central panel with the remains of a sort of tracing paper with applied cupids, and love-bird with a note in its beak. A little red scrap of a book reads "Copius Charms". Card measures 14 cm by 9 cm (about 5.1/2 inches by 3.1/2 inches). Has some damage to one "lace" edge, and the central panel is ruptured with a section missing.   « Less
