Large Sheffield Plate salt, edged decorated with shell and scroll embossing. Pedestal stem. Later Bristol blue glass liner. Salt measures 4.5 cm high by 10 cm by 8 cm (1.3/4 inches by 4 inches by 3.1/4 inches). Original antique sconces with an original poly-chrome coloring...although...like a good oriental carpet, it is subdued and mellow and even has some wear....it is in....pretty good condition for all this time though...it probably could be brightened up. However, we like antiques to look like antiques so will leave it to the next owner to make that final finish decision. The shades are really quite unique. Heavy cast glass with heavy embossed designs, they are a deep amber color which is very earthy when not alight. With a strong bulb, they give an ambiance that is quite antique. We took our picture with a 15 watt bulb so the camera would focus on the light and shade detail...not get washed out by too strong a bulb. These sconces have been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the rotary switches, made by Leviton in the 20’s...and were still made up to ONE year ago. So these switches, by Leviton are becoming even more rare as we note this. Measurements: The overall sconce height is 10”. The maximum width (shade) is 4 3/4”. It will project into the room 5 1/2” from the wall. This is a handsome antique cast iron Tudor five-light chandelier, circa 1920s. The chandelier begins with a hammered canopy, coming down in a chain to a twisted loop finial. Below the finial the chandelier body is supported by chains hanging from a crenellated cluster. The disk-shaped, cast iron chandelier body features a hammered texture and an underside decorated with abstract fleur-de-lis and foliates. The chandelier body extends outward and supports five hand hammered bobeches. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 17” wide and 20 ½” tall to the top of the cluster, and the fixture is 31” long overall. NC1450-RW   « Less

Beautiful Victorian bottle stand, silver plate with ornate scrolled central handle and supports, three bottle rings and standing on three ball feet. Probably originally a stand for either bottles or narrow decanters, this could easily also be used for pickle jars etc. Height is approx. 35.5 cm high (14 inches). Diameter is 21.5 cm (8.3/8 inches).The bottle rings each have an internal diameter of 7/8 cm (3.1/8 inches) so should just fit a standard bottle of wine. Quite a striking piece to have on your dining table. No maker's marks. Some tiny very minor pitting on the stand base where the bottles would stand and unfortunately some damage to the bottom of two of the handle stalks just above where they join the base (see last photo).   « Less
