For Sale is a lovely pair of candlesticks made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is "Gardenia" and it is done in their ever Popular Gray More »
For Sale is a lovely pair of candlesticks made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is "Gardenia" and it is done in their ever Popular Gray Background Glaze. Each Candlestick measure approximately 1 3/4" tall and they have a diameter of 3 1/2".
The pattern is a very pleasing one of Banded White Gardenia Flowers surrounded by detailed veined leaves on each side of the Flower. The bottom glaze is just wonderful as it Bleeds from a Soft Lilac Purple at the bottom to a Medium Gray and then onto a lighter Gray at the top or opening of the Candlesticks.
The Candlesticks are considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks. nicks, chips or dings. There is the usual crazing that is common with this glaze. I have owned over 50 pieces of Gardenia in my Lifetime and I am pretty sure that every single one of them had crazing. I believe this to be very common and consistent with their Glaze Combinations for this line.
The candlesticks are signed on the bottom "Roseville U.S.A." along with the Shape number 651" in raised relief. There is also the letters and numbers "4 T" on one candlestick and a "V" or a small letter "h" or an "L" (depends how you look at it) written in a blue grease pencil. I believe these to be the Finishers and Artists initials. This Candlesticks are very lovely and will enhance any Roseville Gardenia Pottery Collection.
These Candlesticks were made, Circa 1950. « Less

For sale is a beautiful piece of Art Pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Magnolia" and it is in the ever Popular Blue background Glaze. The Console Bowl has some size to it as it stands 3 1/2" tall and is 13 1/4" wide outside handles measurements. It is 7 1/4" deep. The inside bowl measures 11 5/16" outside lip measurements. The inside measurement is 10 3/4".
The Bowl displays a nice shape. It has an irregular top border with lots of high and lows. It has two triangular applied handles at each end for easy handling.
The Bowl has a very pleasing two toned blue textured background glaze. This seems to resemble bark from a tree. It is further embossed with 2 large off White Magnolia Flowers with Pink Centers. The pattern is a little bit different on the opposite side but the glaze colors are the same. There is some Fuchsia Sky glaze coloring on the top right hand corner of the bowl and this the same on both sides. These flowers on both sides appear to be flowering from wavy black branches.
The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is signed on the bottom in raised relief "Roseville U.S.A." and the mold number 449-10" also in raised relief. The vase has a large letter "M" and the number "13" written in a Blue grease pencil. This was more than likely the finisher's mark. This Console Bowl vase is extremely clean as you can see.
This piece was made in 1943 during World War II. Those of you who collect this pattern and want a nice example need to look no further. This is an excellent example in both form and Glaze combinations. « Less

For Sale is a lovely piece of Art Pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Spanish Moss" or just "Moss" and the mold shape is a "Jardiniere". The Jardiniere is a nice cabinet size as it stands 4 1/4" tall and 6 3/4" in diameter outside handles measurements.
The Jardiniere depicts an embossed Spanish Moss hanging in clusters of Vertical Lines from branches with Green Leaves. The background color is a Pink Glaze. For Sale is a nice piece of art pottery made by the Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Zephyr Lily" and the shape is a Footed Double Handled Fan More »
For Sale is a nice piece of art pottery made by the Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Zephyr Lily" and the shape is a Footed Double Handled Fan or Pillow Vase. The Vase is a nice size as it stands 6 3/8" tall and is 6 3/4" wide and 2 3/8" deep. This also happens to be the same measurement as the foot.
The Vase depicts tall lilies with slender stems and leaves in the background. The Flowers and Leaves are done in Raised Relief. The Background Glaze is blended from a Light Jade Green to Deep Teal Green . There are one Flower on each side of vase. One is glazed in a Creamy Yellow Color and the leaves are a Yellow Green. The second flower is a Salmon Pink with yellow/green leaves and they both have brown pistils. This Vase sits on a Rectangular foot or platform and shows handles on each side at the foot reaching up to the body of the vase.
The Vase is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no chips, cracks, nicks or dings. This is crazing throughout and this seems to be very common with the green glaze Zephy Lily pieces. The piece is signed with the raised relief mark of Roseville U.S.A. 205-6". This mark is hard to see and is onscurred by the bottoms glaze.
This is somewhat a Hard To Find form. You can purchase with Confidence as this would be an excellent addition to one's Art Pottery Collection especially that of Roseville Zephyr Lily.
This Vase was made, Circa 1946. « Less

For Sale is a wonderful piece of pottery made by Bennington Pottery of Bennington, VT. I have a "Toby Mug" or "Pitcher-Creamer". The Mug is a nice cabinet size as it stands 6 More »
For Sale is a wonderful piece of pottery made by Bennington Pottery of Bennington, VT. I have a "Toby Mug" or "Pitcher-Creamer". The Mug is a nice cabinet size as it stands 6 1/8" tall and is approximately 4 5/8" outside handle measurement. The rim measures 3" across and 3 1/4" deep and the open gets smaller as it gets closer to the spout.
The Pitcher has a wonderful Rockingham brown glaze that is uniform throughout. The Mug depicts a Colonial Patriot holding a mug of ale in his right hand and a pipe in his left hand. He is wearing tri-cornered hat that is used as a spout or pitcher. The handle is even equipped with a thumb rest. It has an Acanthus leaf pattern on it and the leaf rolls down the handle just below the thumb rest. The bottom has what we call a "Kick Up or Concave" bottom.
The Pitcher is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is unsigned but it is a well documented form from Bennington Pottery. This Mug could be used to drink ale or beer from the side spouts and as a creamer pitcher for the front spout. It has a utilitarian use.
This is a wonderful Mug, Pitcher to find in this condition. Usually there is damage to the handle or chips to the spout. I am happy to report this Mug has none. That fact that it has survived 130-170 years without any damage is amazing!! This Mug, Pitcher will work just fine in any Early American or Colonial style decor. This pitcher was made in the mid 1800's, Circa 1840-1880. « Less

For Sale is a nice piece of art pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Dahlrose" and the shape is a Double Handled Bulbous More »
For Sale is a nice piece of art pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Dahlrose" and the shape is a Double Handled Bulbous Vase. The Vase has some size to it as it stands 6 1/8" tall and is 8" in diameter at its widest point which is the shoulder.
The Vase depicts a classic shape shape with a raised and flared lip accented with buttress style handles connecting the top lip to the upper body of the vessel on each side. The Vase has ivory cream colored flowers on a rough textured brown background that resembles the ground. These Flowers kind of look like Daises but Roseville decided to call this pattern "Dahlrose" These flowers flow gracefully around the upper portion of the vase. They are connected by sage green stem and leaves. This form is very desirable and shows minimal signs of previous use.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is a small area along the bottom edge that is a glaze miss. The piece is not signed as these usually had a black or silver foil label or the shape number was written in a Red Grease pencil. This is a well documented pattern in the Roseville catalog pages and was known as shape number 364-6" in the Roseville Dahlrose pattern line.
This is a wonderful quality Roseville Vase that is in excellent condition. I'm quite sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This vase was made during Roseville's middle period Circa mid 1920's. « Less
