This is a splendid antique Aesthetic Movement cast bronze door knob set, dating from the late 1800 s. The knob features a wonderful foliate design across the center, topped with a triangle adorned with a fan design and tiny, intricately cast geometric shapes. The bottom of the knob is adorned with a large fan shape, filled with a half sunburst and a triangle pattern, edged with scallops. A variation of the design is repeated on the back of each knob, separated from the front by a prominent ridge. This Eastlake knob set is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina. Each doorknob measures 2 3/8 in diameter and 2 deep. This is an exquisite set of four matching antique Aesthetic Movement brass door knob sets with their original matching plates and mortise locks, dating from the 1880’s. The center of each knob features a square, divided by a diagonal band running from corner to corner, ornamented with a trio of florets. Two larger florets fill the opposite corners. The knob is bordered in a zigzag pattern. The beautifully cast plates are ornamented with stylized foliate detail and a repetition of the diagonal floret design of the knob, and the mortise lock features a miniature version of the same design as the plates. This Eastlake set is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina; the knobs measure 2 ¼” in diameter and 2 ¼” deep, the plates are 5 ¼” tall and 1 ¾” wide, and the outside edge of the mortise lock is 5 ½” tall. These are eleven matching antique Neoclassical door knob sets with their original matching plates and mortise locks, circa 1900, made of cast iron. The knobs feature an oval shape, ornamented with volutes and flowers, and are accented on the back of the knob with a beautiful ribbed pattern. The back plates are ornamented with an anthemion at both the top and the bottom and intricately cast volute and floral detail on either side, connected with a delicate ribbed border that encircles the plate. This set is in excellent condition; the knobs measure 2 ¼” tall, 1 ½” wide, and 2 ¼” deep; the plates are 7 3/8” tall and 2 ¼” wide.
