Cast iron 1920-30 Art Deco sconces with an interesting rectangular “step†slip-in shade on top.
The finish is pewter with high/lo accents. I like how the backplate repeats the angular sides of the shade.
The shade is secured with set screws and there is a horseshoe style seg at the back, which notches into the shade with the back set screw. An interesting adaptation.
Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs. The backplate has a rotary switch for on and off. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
Measurements: Overall height (w/o candles) is 11 1/2â€. Overall widest part is the backplate which is 4 1/2†wide. Projects into the room 5 1/4â€. The backplate is 10†tall by 4 1/2†at it’s widest point.
Price: $325.00 for the pair plus $20.00 for careful shipping within the contiguous 48 states. Residents of Alaska/Hawaii and International Customers, please call 360-379-9030 for a shipping quote. « Less

Lovely pair of Circa 1920 wall sconces. Original antique sconces with original Art Glass antique shades.
These sconces have a lovely Edwardian pewter look and a great design that is so typical of the Edwardian style.
The original antique shades are also so very nice. They are an ivory color with clear applied art glass touches to each side. Tall shades and the design on the art glass shades seems to match the shapes found in the metal backplate. A nice combination indeed.
The metal, of the backplates, is cast metal with a lovely pewter finish. Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. We would recommend our LED candelabrum bulbs, 35C-E26 if you wish ambient light rather than full room power. The ambiance of these bulbs is warm and they draw so little electricity (1.6 watts) that we have known folks that leave them on 24/7. The bulbs do have an expected life of 25,000 - 30,000 hours.
However,,,if a stronger light is desired....we suggest a tubular S-10 bulb which is the same kind of tubular bulb often used in desk lamps. It gives a balanced light for this longer shade.
These sconces have been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the rotary switches, made by Leviton in the 20’s...and were still made up to ONE year ago. So these switches, by Leviton are becoming even more antique as we note this.
Measurements: The overall sconce height is 11 1/2â€. The maximum width (shade) is 4 1/2â€. It will project into the room, from the wall 6 1/4â€. The backplate, by itself, measures 11†tall by 4 1/2â€.
Price for the pair: $375.00 plus $20.00 for careful packing and ground shipping within the contiguous 48 states. Residents of Alaska/Hawaii and International Customers, please call 360-379-9030 for a shipping quote. « Less

Mid-Century Modern French 1950s Chandelier
Here is a great ceiling light for a special place.
French, and made from aluminum, it has four down lights having heavy cast glass shades. These shades are simply neat. Very thick, and very heavy, they epitomize the 50’s with the star rays and squat ball shape. They are “threaded†into the fitter rather than using set screws. Very neat!
Downside is the size of light bulb it can take. Being a converted French fixture to American sockets, it can only take a smaller 25 watt or so light bulb. We recommend using LED or compact fluorescent bulbs for more light output.
The metal could use a polishing or fine steel wool depending on the finish. It does show its age a bit, but we tend not to interfere with the aging process since it is a collectible after all.
Measurements:
* Diameter: 18"
* Height: 9" overall, including the shades.
This chandelier has been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and all new wire.
Price: $715.00 plus careful packing and shipping.
$50.00 for careful packing and ground shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Truly a streamline Art Deco pair of sconces. Often called “clam shell†sconces, they are as typical of the Deco era as they can be.
Marked contrast of old gold paint and what appears to be nickel contrasts. Striking indeed. The finish IS showing it’s signs of wear and could be cleaned up a mite, but will leave that to be decided by the new owner. The pictures do tell all we think.
The shades are in remarkable condition with strong coloring and a very pleasing appearance.
Measuring 9 1/2" tall with a width of 5 1/2", they project into a room (from the wall) 5 1/2â€
