Amazing antique inverted dome chandelier with a vaseline glass shade, dating from the 19th century. This light fixture begins with an understated canopy, extending down in a rod to a round pan and a ball finial with three chains attached by hooks. The chains and rod move down to support the lower chandelier body. The original vaseline glass shade, in its characteristic light yellow color, is a gorgeous inverted dome featuring a band around the upper lip with decorative shields and swag. This uncommon light fixture is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the edges. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier is approximately 19-1/4" wide, 26-1/2" tall to the ball finial, and 43-1/2" long overall.

American Federal Period Jedediah Weiss (b. 1796-1873) Cherry Tall Case Clock, Allentown, Pennsylvania circa 1820-30.
This features an outstanding hood design, with a broken swan's neck pediment with ring carved rosettes flanking a ball-and-steeple finial over a plain plinth, each corner of the hood topped with matched finials. A pair of carved columns flank an arched door with replaced glass, swinging freely over original hinges, constructed using through-tenons, opening to reveal a stunning white painted clock face with Arabic numerals, a 15-30-45-60 along the perimeter of the face marking minutes, and calendar aperture over the signature "J. Weifs Allentown". The painted and gilded shell spandrels, each unique from the next, enclose the clock face, surmounted by a nesting bird watching over her eggs with scenery in the background. The hood is openly dovetailed along the sides with original glass in both tiny round windows. The thin shaft is solid Cherry, with a thick molded door swinging on replaced hinges and decorative strap hinges, the lock and key both replaced. The clock rests over a box-base over four original turned feet. The back of the case is entirely original with old rose head nails visible throughout, with an old entirely illegible label still affixed on the removable back board behind the hood. The works appear to be well preserved, with hand forged brass link chain holding the hand forged iron weight behind the brass pendulum. We have not tested the clock or examined it for completeness, though we have some condition notes below on the pendulum.
This is a stunning piece with an outstanding amount of originality in every aspect of the case and clock. Not many tall case clocks come to the market from Jedediah Weiss, the famous clockmaker that Charles F. Beckel of Bethlehem PA, apprenticed beneath. This is an investment grade antique for any serious collector of American furniture, and a work of art that will be treasured by your family for generations to come.
Measurements:
Hood: 19 3/4" wide x 10 1/4" deep
Base: 19" wide x 10" deep
Total height: 95"
Condition:
Visually Outstanding Condition
Refinished. All feet original. Finials original; they join the hood with a long hand forged nail, so over time this has become loose. Some are glued, but all are still loose - the middle plinth beneath the finial may be replaced or added. Some looseness in the case between the shaft and base - we would just stress that you be carefully to lift from the bottom, not from the shaft, as is the case with all clocks. Glass on the arched door is replaced, the glass in either side of the hood are both original - however, one has a hairline crack in it. Hinges for the arched door appear to be fully original, but the top hinge has newer screws. There has been some strengthening to behind the pediment and face of the hood - this is visible in a top down shot of the hood. Paint flecks here and there. Back and underside entirely original with no replacements; old rose heads throughout back and bottom still in original positions. The backboard for the hood does not have any screws or nails to hold it in place - it is meant to be removed from the back when disassembling the clock, but over time the original screws/nails for affixing it to the case have been lost. Key, lock and hinges replaced - we believe the strap hinges are decorative additions that probably were not present in the original design. Minor dings and nicks here and there, along with normal wear to the feet. Pendulum is original with inscriptions on the back, the top of the pendulum swinging strap being broken (typical with clocks as this is a very thin piece of metal).

Very Fine French Empire Gilt Bronze Figural Mantel Clock
Original Antique, Paris, France c. 1815
Item # 120202TUW24
This listing is for a Fine French Empire Gilt Ormolu Figural Mantel Clock c. 1815. It makes quite a statement at 17 1/2" high, appropriately petite while having significant presence. The subject is beautiful, featuring a classical figure lounging on a French Empire period récamier with a soft fabric draped over the crest, resting deeply in a thick cushion as she turns her head high to enjoy the hanging bunch of grapes. She is much adorned, with a vine-and-leaf design around her head, each arm with thin gold bands and a thin slinky dress falling across her body.
The sofa is simply a work of art, attention shown to even the smallest details - for example, the mattress she rests on folds and crinkles with such realism you almost want to touch it. The sleigh-form curls at the top beneath the draped cloth, beneath the crest of which is a Cupid with tiny wings peaking over the shoulders, a flowing ribbon making up a halo over his head before curling around his shoulders and into his hands. A dog sits faithfully to the left, while on his right side he holds a bow, the strung entangled around the device. Three small stars finish the design along the top. The sofa apron is a wide border of leaf-vine-berry and floral motifs, mirroring the Rococo spirit of her relaxed demeanor. It rests over Griffin legs, cabriole and joining the frame with curled returns - the details, again, absolutely stunning down to the tiny claws that protrude from each toe.
The center of the sofa is the clock face, gilt through the center with an incredible and complex design in the gilt bordered by a silvered Roman Numeral gallery (over-painted rather poorly), completed by a gilt border made up of a complicated array of arches. The back of the clock is naturally exposed, showing a stamped works with "C 390", mirrored on the back of the hand forged pendulum "390". The entire clock rests over a square base, highlighted at the center with a wonderful design of floral and foliate flowing over rods topped with acorn-form heads, the rods flanking a collection of musical wind instruments. The base rests over acanthus-inspired feet.
Every aspect of this clock is executed with precision and mastery of the details. Each casting is perfect, stunning, minute in detail - her form is perfect, proportions flawless and the overall aesthetic is above reproach. This is a clock for serious collectors of French Empire antiques, a rare find in this condition and is an investment grade work of art.
Measurements: 14" wide x 4 3/4" deep x 17 1/2" high
Condition Report:
Visually Outstanding Condition
Oxidization and tarnishing to the gilt ormolu, more notable to the base where rubbing and dirtiness is a bit more apparent. Wear to the clock face, the Roman Numerals being poorly in-painted with black. No keys available to wind the clock. Minor scratches and wear as would be expected. We have not tested the clock for functionality or attempted to wind it - this is best left to an expert.
