A superb antique brass five-light chandelier in its original polychrome finish, dating from the 1920’s. The chandelier begins with a loop finial ornamented with leaves and a lattice pattern; below, five brass bands form the chandelier body and flare out into chandelier arms. Near the middle of the chandelier, the bands are overlaid with elongated leaves, each hung with a clear teardrop prism. The center of the chandelier features a cluster of three-dimensional polychrome flowers on stems. Each chandelier arm supports a foliate bobeche, and the chandelier finishes in a leaf cluster with a brass finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 18 ¾” wide and 19 ¾” tall, and the fixture is 38” long overall. NC990-RW   « Less

A fabulous pair of antique double-arm Art Deco sconces, dating from the 1930’s and featuring a great two-tone finish. The sconce features an elegant silver-tone volute design on a dark background, with a stylized flower near the top of the backplate. The sconce arms support geometric Art Deco bobeches. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. Ethereal, impressionistic oil on board painting of purple irises, by either Fannie (1858-1931) or Jennie (1872-1961) Burr. Fannie and her younger sister, Jennie, both artists, were born into Monroe, CT's most prominent family. Their father was a very successful farmer. Although the 2 sisters were 14 years apart, they were very close. They began drawing when children. Each attended and graduated from Mt Holyoke College and the Yale School of Fine Arts. After that, Fannie studied at the Art Students League in NYC. These accomplishments were very rare for a young woman in those days. List in Who Was Who in American Art by Peter Falk. Exhibition at the New Britain Museum of American Art New Britain CT. Catalogue of work produced by The Connecticut Gallery Inc. This painting was acquired directly from an heir to the estate. A wonderful antique Art Deco slip shade chandelier, made and signed by Lincoln Company, and dating from the 1930’s. This six-light chandelier begins with a leaf-and-dart canopy, coming down in a single chain to a trumpet-shaped flower, with five chains supporting the chandelier body. The slipper shades are ornamented with an overlapping design of flowers and circles. The chandelier frame features a matching stylized flower design with geometric details on a hammered background. This light fixture is in very good antique condition with some chips on the shades (pictured) and chips around the edge of the center shade (not visible when the shade is in place). The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning switch on the chandelier for nostalgia’s sake. This chandelier is 16 ½” wide, 18 ½” tall (body only), and 32” long overall.   « Less
