For sale is a very Rare desk set item made by Tiffany Studios of New York. The Item is a "Magnifying Glass" and it is done in the "Pine Needle" desk set pattern. The patina on the metal is the most desirable Green/Brown. The stained glass is the green/white opalescent Favrile glass. The Magnifying Glass 1/2" tall, 8" long and has a diameter of 3 3/4" outside measurement.
This Magnifying Glass displays an Acid Etched Pine Needle Overlay Pattern on Green/White Opalescent Glass in the Handle. The Glass inside of the handles is slightly slumped or curved. This is one the most desirable and Rarest of the Tiffany Pine Needle Desk set pieces to find. The Patina is extremely nice!
The Magnifying Glass is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, or chips to any of the Glass. The only issue I can see is some cloudiness in the lower left corner of the lens. It appears that something was laid on the glass causing this cloudiness from rubbing against it or Glue residue. I'm sure this could be polished out. It can only be seen when held at an angle to the light. The metal face surrounding the Glass has a few very tiny indents to the metal. This is all considered minor and does not take away value from the piece. The Magnifying Glass is signed on the bottom underside ring next to where the handle is attached. It is signed with the "Tiffany Studios" impressed mark along one side and the pattern number "903" on the other side.
This is a an extremely nice Magnifying Glass in excellent condition. When these are found there is usually some kind of damage to the glass or the Lens Holder that holds the Glass. Since the glass was curved in these handles when the Glass was dropped it was common for the glass inside to develop a stress crack. I am very happy to report that this one has No Cracked Glass!! I believe the Pine Needle Pattern to have been the first of the Fancy Goods Product lines made at Tiffany Studios. Those of you who are looking for an excellent example of the Magnifying Glass in the Pine Needle Pattern will be delighted with their purchase.
Tiffany Studios assigned a number to their desk set pieces after 1902. Up until then they were only Signed "Tiffany Studios" or "Tiffany Studios New York". This piece was made, circa 1902-1920. « Less

For sale is a lovely vase with a Wonderful Glaze combination made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is "Carnelian II" and the shape is a Double Handled Flaring Vase. The Vase is large as it measures 8 1/8" tall and is 6 7/8" in diameter outside handles measurement.
The Vase displays a Wonderful example of this Carnelian II Glaze. There is a deep rich Purple Wisteria Glaze that drips down from the top over the edge and down towards the bottom of the Vase. It swirls into a Pink to Dusty Rose Bubble Gum Glaze at the bottom. It is then Marbleized with a lighter hue of Plum, more like Raspberry and Lilac. The Glaze is Goopy and drippy as you can see an feel the thickness around the pot. It kinds of reminds me of Cotton Candy as the Glaze Looks that Yummy. It is accented with Two Applied Art Deco Styled Handles that rise up off the bottom waist and connect at the base of the tall Flaring Neck.
The vase is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The piece is not signed on the bottom and more than likely had a Paper or Foil Label. The Vase does have the number 332 written in a Red Grease Pencil. This is as good as a signature as it is Roseville Shape Number 332-8 in their Carnelian Line. There is also the number 7 written in a Blue Grease Pencil just under the shape number and is most likely the finishers mark. This Shape was adapted from the Carnelian I Line. This was not uncommon for Roseville to do this with the Carnelian II line in their earlier years of this particular pattern. The inside of the Pot shows just how wonderful and Goopy this Glaze really is. There are pools of glaze all over the interior
The piece has an Art Deco Appeal. This Vase is all about the Glaze and Form and this one has it all. This is a great example of this particular glaze and I'm quite sure the buyer will not be disappointed. The Vase was made circa, 1915-1927.

For sale is a lovely Art Glass Vase made by Loetz Klostermuehle of Bohemia which is now the modern day Czech Republic. The Pattern is called "Astartig" and the form is a Flower Vase. The Vase is a nice size as it stands 5 1/4" tall and has a diameter of 3 1/8" at its widest point. The bottom of the vase has a diameter of 2 1/8".
The Vase displays a very beautiful Candia (Gold) Silberiris texture with random patterns pinched within the surface while the glass was still warm from the furnace and finished with a scalloped irregular top rim. The iridescence is just outstanding as you can see vivid colors of Gold, Platinum Blue and very strong Fuchsia. The Base Glass is Clear with a Gold Applied decoration. Astartig (branch) glass used a highly iridescent gold finish over Candia glass, usually free form pieces, with small protrusions pulled from the body of the glass. The Vase has a beautiful organic shape and appears to be a double gourd shape.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Opening at the top resemble a Flower Form Shape and is quite irregular. The bottom does display a counter sunk polished pontil. This is the mark of a quality piece of art Glass. The Vase is not signed but it is a very well documented Loetz Decor. The Vase is very clean outside and in as It shows minimal signs of use.
This is a very nice vase that is not so commonly found. The decoration is brilliant and well defined. I'm quite sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This Vase was known as Candia Astartig Silberiris, Production No. 1828 in the Loetz Catalog. This Vase was made circa 1904 and is considered the early years for Loetz.

For sale is a wonderful piece of Art Glass blown by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is a Compote or Center Piece Footed Bowl with Rings. The Compote is blown in Frederick Carder's very desirable Topaz Art Glass. The Compote has some size to it as it stands 6 3/4" tall and is 8" in diameter. The foot has a diameter of 4".
The Vase displays a very beautiful Topaz or Amber colored Body, Stem and Foot. The looped applied handles on each side is also done in this beautiful Topaz color. The Rings that are locked inside these loops are done in a Rope Design but they are clear crystal. The Bowl is a very complicated shape and has several interesting parts that comprise it. It first starts with a round raised foot that has a folded edge underneath. It then has a deep Topaz washer shaped knuckle with a Squat circular closed break that is hollow inside. It then has another deep Topaz knuckle that has a top and bottom side on top of that. The Body of the Compote or Bowl is attached to this knuckle. Then the piece takes on interesting handles. These handles are Looped on 2 sides and fused to the bowl. To finish this off Steuben locked in Clear Crystal Twisted Rope Style rings inside. This is very difficult to do and clearly shows the Glass Blowing skills of Steuben's Master Glass Blowers. I see at least 9 steps in just forming this glass vessel without counting the mixing of the Sand and Chemicals to comprise the Topaz Color.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. I cannot even see scratches along the underside bottom edge and this leads me to believe that this was a cabinet piece and was rarely used. The Compote is not signed and more than likely had a Paper Label that simply fell off after time.
This was a tough Shape to find documented sales on. I did find a Selenium Red and an Orange Cintra one. They both sold a few years back and they both sold for $1600 plus the Buyers Premium of 20%. I do not feel that the Topaz is worth what the Selenium Red and Cintra pieces are worth.

This a very nice example and I'm quite sure the buyer will be quite pleased with their purchase. This is known as shape number 2942 in the Steuben Catalog pages. This piece was made during the Frederick Carder Years, Circa 1910-1932. « Less

For sale is a very lovely Art Pottery Basket Vase made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The design is the ever popular, "Snowberry" pattern. It is done in the most sought after Blue background Glaze. The Basket is rather large as it stands 8 1/4" tall and is 9" in diameter outside handle measurements.
The Vase depicts very pleasing clusters of White Berries with a handful of detained green leaves on brown winding branches flowing from the top to the bottom. This is set against a background Glaze that bleeds from a medium blue to a Rosie Blue in the middle and back to a medium at the bottom. There is a Triangular Shaped Styled Handle that loops over from the top lip and attaches to the other sides waist. This gives this piece that Art Deco flair!
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is some very minor crazing and this seem to be typical with this glaze especially with the basket shape. The Vase is signed with the "Roseville U.S.A." Raised Relief Cipher Mark along with the mold number "1BK-8" also in raised relief. The "BK" Stands for Basket. There is also a raised letter 3 in the bottom glaze. I'm not sure what this means.
This is truly a lovely Basket Vase in a very desirable Glaze color. The Vase was made Circa 1947, just after World War II

For sale is a wonderful Matte Green Ferner made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is known as " Ming Tree" and it is done in their most Popular Blue Glaze. Each Candlestick measures approximately 2 1/4" tall and is 4 1/8" wide.
The Candlesticks has a wonderful Sky Blue background Glaze accented with Brown Branches and White Puffs of Foliage. Roseville called this Blue Glaze (Celestial Blue). The Candlesticks display a very realistic Twisted Bonsai Tree with Brown Branches that protrude from each side of the Candle Hole opening and the Foliage Rising up from a Branch. The Glaze is a high Gloss and it gives these sticks a Reflective appearance.
The Candlesticks are considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, dents or dings. There is the usually crazing that is common to this high gloss glaze. The Candlesticks are signed on the bottom with Embossed "Roseville U.S.A. 551" in raised relief. There is also a letter X written in blue Grease pencil along with the number 2 and the letter C with 2 Dashes. More than likely these are the finishers marks. These Candlesticks are not a common find in this Patter. In fact the Pattern itself is Hard to Find.
I'm sure the lucky Buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. These candlesticks were made, Circa 1949 and are considered late in the Roseville Production Years. « Less

For Auction is a beautiful piece of Art Pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a Pillow Vase and the pattern is the highly sought after "Iris". The Vase measures approximately 8 3/8" tall and is 6 1/2" outside handle measurement. The Vase measures 3 3/8" deep.
The Vase displays very Natural Embossed Iris Flowers in a White Glaze with Pale Pink Overspray and Yellow Flower Centers. The Background is a very pleasing Salmon Pink that graduates to a Sage Green overspray on the foot. The Iris's are blooming and have embossed Medium Green Colored Leaves nestled underneath them. You can see Iris Flower Buds that haven't quite opened yet as well. The Piece is accented on each side with handles that start at the waist and extend upwards to the shoulder of neck of the vase. I would call these Stepped Buttress Style Handles.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are no excuses to be made for this piece as it is an excellent example in both form and Glaze. The Vase is signed on the bottom with the impressed "Roseville" mark along with the mold number "922-8". There is also a hand inscribed "x" which is most likely the finisher's mark. There is also a couple of illegible grease pencil marks from the artist as well.
This is a very lovely piece of Art Pottery made by Roseville Pottery. I'm sure the lucky buyer will be delighted with their purchase. The Pink Pillow Vase is not as common as the Blue so you pink Iris Collectors do not let this one slip by. This piece was made, Circa 1939 « Less
