For sale is a very lovely piece of Art Glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is called a "Bon Bon or Finger Bowl" and it is done in Tiffany's highly sought after Gold Favrile Iridescent Glass. The Bowl stands 2 3/8" tall and has a diameter of approximately 4 3/4" at it widest point. The foot has a diameter of 2 3/4" at it widest measurement.
The Bowl displays a unique shape. It has (8) Vertical ribs along with (8) Clam shaped Finger like Tabs with small ruffles in between each of them at the bottom of the fingers. The vertical ribs divide each finger tab right in the middle. The Gold iridescence is just outstanding!! You can see brilliant Golds with very strong Fuchsia on the inside fingers and Platinum Blue iridescence on the inside bottom. The exterior is equally as beautiful. The Bowl looks metallic yet it is glass.
The Bowl is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are a few bubbles within the glass and there are some very minor scratches on the underside outer polished edge. This is typical of age wear and early glass. There is an inclusion or carbon spot in the glass just under one of the small ruffles on the inside of the bowl. There is a quarter moon shaped grooved area just under this inclusion and it is missing a lit bit of iridescence. These issues are all considered Factory and not wear or damage as this piece was made this way. These handmade imperfections can only be seen when held up to the light and is what makes Tiffany "Favrile" meaning "Hand Made" Line of Art Glass what it is.
The Bowl is properly signed in a counter clockwise fashion. It is the etched Script Signature mark which reads "L.C.T". There is also the number "212" lightly etched on one of the flat spots on the bottom. I believe this to be the shape number in Tiffany Favrile Catalog line. I show a few black and white photos taken from the Tiffany Catalog Archives showing this same bowl. Tiffany made this shape for many years. It was an early shape as is evident by its catalog number. I would guess this to have been made circa 1895-1915.
This is a quality piece of Art glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The Gold Favrile, Aurene Iridescence is just outstanding!! This is a very nice example of this form and color. It is amazing that this Vase has survived over 100 years without getting any kind of damage. Those of you who collect the Gold Favrile, Aurene Forms will surely welcome this fine addition.
You could use this Bowl as a Shrimp Bowl if you would like. The Shrimp would fit perfectly between the tall tabs. I'm quite sure the Buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. « Less

For sale is a Lovely piece of Art Pottery made by The Van Briggle Pottery Company of Colorado Springs, Colorado. This Vase is known as a "Onion Bulb" Bud Vase and is Shape number #645 in The Van Briggle Catalog Line. The Vase Stands 4 1/4" tall and is 3 3/8" in diameter at the widest point. The Vase is made in one of Van Briggle's most highly collected glazes known as "Turquoise Blue".
The Vase depicts an array of Onion Bulbs surrounding the bottom of the piece. Each one of the bulbs has a swirling stem rising up from the Bulb in the shape of a Question Mark. The end of this displays a Onion Flower Bud. The soft lighter matte blue glaze with a deeper matte blue over spray on the Bulbs gives this piece that earthy realistic appearance.
The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The inside of the vase shows minimal wear and it appears that it saw very little use. There is crazing with this piece and is considered the norm with the Turquoise Blue Glaze. There is also an area to the right of the top stem that is very light in the glaze. This piece is signed on the bottom with the Impressed Van Briggle Double A Logo Mark along with "Van Briggle" in large Freehand Letters with "Colo. Spgs" underneath it. The Piece has a shellac bottom on tan dating it from the 40's-60's.
This is a wonderful form in excellent condition. Those of you who collect Arts and Crafts Design Pottery will surely welcome this addition into your collection. I am sure it will look just great on that Stickley, Mission, Arts and Crafts Style Bookcase. This piece was made circa 1940-1960 « Less

For sale is a lovely vase made by Loetz Klostermuehle of Bohemia which is now the modern day Czech Republic. The Pattern is called "Pampas" and the form is a "Large Ruffled Centerpiece Vase. The Vase is quite large as it stands 7" tall and has a diameter of 10 3/4" at its widest point. The bottom of the vase has a diameter of 5 5/8". Picture 3 shows a size comparison next to a can of Campbell's Soup.
The Vase displays a base glass that is light green in color. It is further decorated with a wonderful raised "Thread" Decor that is done in a Fishnet grid work Pattern. These threads are thick and raised up on the glass. They are actually fused into the main body as one. It is further accented with an Iridescent Oil Spot finish. The vase displays a very beautiful rainbow "mother-of-pearl" iridescence with Fuchsia tones throughout. It is accented with 8 large ruffles at the top. It is very European in design. The Pattern form and Color are exceptional. The top lip is rolled and fire polished like the American Contemporaries of the day Tiffany Favrile, Quezal, Durand and Steuben Aurene.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Vase does display a very nice counter sunk polished pontil. This is the sign of a quality piece of Art Glass. The Vase is very clean inside and shows minimal signs of use. You can see some scratches along the bottom edge outer rim. This is typical of its age and use.
This is a Beautiful Vase that is not so commonly found. You Loetz collectors will welcome this fine addition into your collection. This Vase was made, circa 1899-1905 and is considered the early years for Loetz Decorative Art Glass.

For sale is a Splendid Arts and Crafts Style Vase made by the Zanesville Stoneware Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Vase is done in the very desirable Matt Green More »
For sale is a Splendid Arts and Crafts Style Vase made by the Zanesville Stoneware Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Vase is done in the very desirable Matt Green Glaze and the shape is what we call a "Ovoid" Shaped Vase. The Vase is rather large as it stands 8 5/8" tall and is 6" in diameter at the bulge.
The Vase depicts an embossed Stylized Flower on a Stem surrounded by two elongated Leaves on the front and back side. The Matt Green Glaze is wonderful in the Arts and Crafts decorating scheme. The Matt Green Glaze is very similar to Hampshire Pottery's Cucumber Matte Green Glaze. This is one of Zanesville most Popular Patterns and glazes. It was specifically designed to compete against the other Matte green Glazes produced by Weller, Teco, Grueby, Roseville and Hampshire. These were contemporaries to Zanesville at the turn of the Century.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, or chips. The only issues is the usually glaze pops and some crazing and is common with most Zanesville pieces. There is a small area on the lip that shows a minor glaze miss. This is Factory as it was made this way. The Vase is unsigned but it is know as shape number 101. Usually these numbers are impressed into the bottom but for some reason this one is missing it.
This is a wonderful form and would look just fine in any early Matte Green Art Pottery Collection. I'm sure it would look just fine on that Stickley Bookcase. This Vase was made in the early 1900's, Circa 1910-1920.

For Auction is a wonderful Arts and Crafts Shaped Vase made by The Rookwood Pottery Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. The shape is a Squat Indian Snake Basket Vase. The Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 3 1/2" tall and is 4 5/8" wide at the waist.
The Vase displays a very pleasing shape as well as an Arts and Crafts design. The shape is reminiscent of an Indian Snake Basket with an Native Indian design. The design consists of 3 bordered circular rings around the neck of the vessel. The center ring displays a wavy inner ring. The Waist to the foot tapers very sharply and has 14 Fluted Ribs. The is a bordered ring that circles the waist and touches all of these flutes. This piece has a very nice and subtle jade green colored glaze. This Vessel is accented with 2 small looped Handles that rises up from the body and rolls over and connects in the neck into the pattern.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent shape as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Vase is signed on the bottom with Rookwood's Impressed Reverse "RP" and Sunburst Logo along with the roman numerals XXXII for the year of manufacture, 1932 and the mold number 6103. For sale is a wonderful Arts and Crafts piece of Art Pottery made by The Marblehead Pottery Company of Marblehead, Massachusetts. The Shape is the very desirable Mission More »
For sale is a wonderful Arts and Crafts piece of Art Pottery made by The Marblehead Pottery Company of Marblehead, Massachusetts. The Shape is the very desirable Mission Shaped Raised Centerpiece bowl or Planter. The Bowl is kind of large as it stands 3" tall and is 9" in diameter.
The Bowl or Planter is covered in a Smooth Speckled Indigo Glaze. This is also known as the infamous "Marblehead Blue Glaze". This is such a pleasing Matt Blue Glaze and I can see why it was so popular during the day. The Inside displays a lighter Matt Robins Eggs Blue Waterproofing Glaze. The two tones of Blue look outstanding together.
The Bowl is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are a few pin indent areas on the outside of the Bowl in the glaze. This is considered Factory as it was made this way. When you hold this Bowl in your hands you can immediately feel Quality. It has good weight and feels solid. You can also feel this is handmade. When you run your fingers on the inside of the bowl you can feel grooves on the inside walls. This is the tell tale sign of a hand thrown piece. The Bowl is signed on the bottom with the Impressed Ship Logo along with the Initials "M" and "P" on each side of the sails for "Marblehead Pottery".
This is a very nice example of this form and Glaze. This is a very hard to find form in the Bowl Shapes. I have only seen a handful of these in my 38+ years as a Collector/Dealer. I am quite sure the buyer will be quite happy with their purchase. It will look just wonderful for those decorating in the Arts and Crafts, Mission Style Decor. It would look outstanding on a Stickley Furniture Bookcase or Dining Room Table.
Marblehead Pottery was established in 1904 by Dr. Herbert J. Hall as a Studio Art Pottery in Marblehead, Massachusetts using the art and technique of ceramics manufacturing and decorating as a rehabilitation and therapeutic aid to local sanitarium patients at Hall's Devereux Mansion Sanitarium. Marblehead Pottery stopped producing Art Pottery in 1936. Marblehead Pottery was a small Pottery Company never employing more than 6 workers. Their Pottery is considered somewhat scare as compared to their Contemporaries of the day. The collectors that have collected their pieces rarely let them go. « Less

For Auction is a Lovely Vase made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesvile, Ohio. The pattern is "Clematis" and I have a nice size Double Handled Vase Form done in the most Popular Blue Glaze. The Vase Stands 7 1/4" Tall and is 5 3/16" inches in diameter outside Handles measurement.
The piece displays a Salmon to White Embossed Flowers and Yellow Flower Centers on a Tree like Textured Matte Blue Background. It is accented with Embossed Medium Green Foliage Leaves. The Vase is accented with Two Buttress Style Handles that reach out from just under the lip and drop down to the shoulder. The detail is Crisp and Sharp.
The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The only issues to report is some light crazing and this is under extreme light. This seems to be common with this glaze for Clematis as I have a bowl that has some as well. There is an inclusion in one of the Clematis Flower petal ends. This is Factory as it was made this way.
The piece is signed with the "Roseville U.S.A." raised relief mark along with the Mold number 105-7" which is also in raised relief. There is also letters written in pencil above the Roseville Raised mark. There is the large letter "C" the number "1" and a small letter "c" written in Blue Glaze or a Grease Pencil. These are probably the Artist initial and finishers number.
Those of you looking for a Nice Crisp example in a nice cabinet size do not want to pass this one up. The Vase was made Circa 1944 during World War II. « Less
