Pretty Satsuma vase, typical cream crackle ware body with two scenic panels and cobalt blue surrounds. Gilded motifs on the blue and gilded highlights to the scenes. Some wear to the uppermost motifs. Vase measures 15.25 cm high and 8.5 cm diameter (6 inches by 3.3/8 inches). No chips, cracks or repairs. Early 20th century to pre WWII.   « Less

Pretty Famille Rose decorated Chinese porcelain plate. Birds and flowers, and internal scenes. Gilded band in centre. Plate measures 21.5 cm diameter (8.3/8 inch). It has a few minor faults, having probably been once in wire plate hangers - it has a tiny chip to the rear (see photo) and a very very fine, tight compression hairline in one area of the rim (see photo). Presents well, and is a very attractive plate. Circa 1930s. Red diamond mark around the word China.   « Less

Lidded tall sugar bowl, creamer jug, 6 saucers and 4 little coffee cups make up this part service in Satsuma china, with gilded pattern of bamboo and temple buildings. Cream jug is not shown in the group photo, but shown amongst the rest of the photos). Makers mark is for Gyokuzan, gold on red, and probably dates 1930s. Sugar pot is about 10.5 cm high, the creamer is 8 cm high, saucers are 12.75 cm diameter and cups are 5 cm high. Saucers have the typically up-curved rim. Cream fine crackle-glaze body. Measures 30.5 cm high and 18 cm diameter (12 inches by 7 inches). Excellent condition. Printed mark underneath "Made in Japan" and also the hand written mark in Japanese characters.
