This is a 17th century, coloured stone Buddha statue. It is curved out of a single piece of solid rock. The clothing on the body is maroon in colour and the boarder around the sleeve and neck is in black colour. The Buddha face, hand and feet are covered with traces of gold leaf gilding. The head is originally painted in blue colour but later painted with black paint. The head also has circle design on it all around. The base of the statue suggests that the Buddha statue is curved out of a single piece of what could be of granite stone. There are traces of tree roots on part of the body. This is a very heavy piece of Buddha statue. It weights about 10kg or 22lbs. Provenance: DoveBid Auction, May 2004. There is wear and tear, with some chips. Overall it is in good condition. This is a very beautifully potted and unusual Yuan Dynasty(1277-1367) qingbai (yingqing) meiping or plum vase. It has a thick foot base then rise slightly upward to a beaded and slightly baluster body with a slightly rounded and then flat shoulder and then rising to a single loop neck. The design is that of molded lotus flowers and leaf in various stages of flowering in four carthouses on the shoulder as well as the body. On the lower part of the meiping, towards the base, there are three layers of plaintain leaf. Greenish glazed can be seen pooling at the recessed part of the molding. It also has very nice ice crazing on the glaze. The body shape is quite proportionate and well balance. The meiping or plum vase has some abrasion on the mouth and body, especially on the beaded parts of the body but no chip, crack, repair or restoration. In good condition. This is a Yuan Dynasty(1277-1367) celadon covered box. The top cover has a double circle with radiating club shaped like a sun ray all round. Just below it, is the design of foliage circling the all round. The flower part of the covered box also has foliage design design followed by a club shaped motif. The color of the top half is lighter than the lower half of the covered box. The covered box has minor abrasion and minute pinholes. No chip, crack, repair or restoration. This is a Japanese military map of North Asia dated 25th/29th July, 12 Year of Showa reign. This is translated to the 12th year of Emperor Hirohito’s reign. He became emperor in 1926 and died in 1989. Add the 12 year to 1926 that translate the map dating to 1938. This is a general Japanese military map of North Asia of the Japanese troop deployment and the armies that they are fighting against. The countries shaded in dark yellow colour are greater Japan, which consist of Japan, the southern part of Shakalin Island (which is now part of Russia). It also includes Korean and Taiwan. The pink colour shading on the north and north-east is the then Soviet Russia or USSR. The light yellow colour shading is the puppet state of Manchukuo or Manchuria, which is the homeland of the Qing dynasty. This state in China is under the control of the Japanese imperial army. To the west is Mongolia which is shaded light grey in colour. To the south of Manchukuo state is the green colour zone, which is the buffer war zone of the Northern warlords and the Chung Hwa Ming Kuo or Nationalist government led by Chiang Kai Shek to the south (grey in colour). This is a very detailed general military deployment from all combatants which includes bunkers, troops, amours, ports, airfields, minefields, railway-lines and shipping lane. Also included are oil fields and produces of some of the region that are under the Japanese control There are two main tears shown in picture 6 and minor folding tears/ holes aside from the folding lines. This is a finely potted pair of prosperity and longevity bowl. It has scalloped rim. On the outside of the bowl It is painted with three alternating green bat or wufu and the character “Shou” or longevity. The bat is holding a pair of coins, bind together by a green foliage, which represent prosperity. The character “Shou” is painted in gold in the centre of a roundal design surrounded by copper red colour lotus with foliage all around. On the inside of the bowl, the centre is painted with a peach tree with a peach fruit with a flower and a copper red colour bat or wufu flying over it. The base of the bowls bears the six-character reign mark of Emperor Daoguang (1821-1850), Qing Dynasty, in over-glaze copper red and of the period. The pair of bowl is in very good condition. This is a very beautiful cylindrical body brush pot painted with varied scenery in famille rose palette with a continuous scene of lakeside landscape of distance pavilion, walled monastery and tea house scattered amidst tress and layered mountains in various shade of blue and green and red with texture stroke and with high peaks in the distance. There are people walking about and in the tea house set in a tranquil and peaceful lake side and mountain village atmosphere. On the lake with peaceful and calm rippling water amidst the light grey mist (picture 4), two small boats with fishermen are doing their fishing. Inside of the brush pot, it is just plain white glaze. The base of the brush pot bears the six-character reign mark of Emperor Guangxu (1875-1908), Qing Dynasty, in over-glaze copper red and it is of the period. There is only one small chip as shown in picture 3 and some minor pin holes. Other than that, it is in very good condition. This is a 16th/17th Century blue and white bowl. On the outside of the bowl it is painted with a chi-dragon with bifurcated tail and a plant. On the inside of the bowl, it shows a chi-dragon twirling around in a circle. There is no hairline crack, chip, repair or restoration. Only minor rim and foot fritting, pin holes and some sand grits on the base on the inside of the bowl. Other than that, the bowl is in good condition.
