Beautiful set of 12 flat teaspoons by George W. Shiebler & Co. of New York, NY. The pattern is called Maintenon c.1895. Approximately 6 1/4" long and 10 troy ounces. Each is monogrammed with what looks like SL on the back side. Marks include the winged logo for the George W. Shiebler Company with the S in the center, Pat. 95 and STERLING. The Shiebler Company was out of business by 1915. Beautiful and in very good condition.   « Less

Beautiful pair of sterling silver grape scissors made for Tiffany & Company by the Moore Company c.1865-70. They are all sterling silver with cast handles formed as massed grape vines with leaves and bunches of grapes. Approximately 7 1/4" long and 4 troy ounces. Marks include an Old English M in an oval and a curved TIFFANY & CO, like those used by the Moore Co. on the holloware pieces it made for Tiffany from c.1851 to c.1870. It is also marked STERLING and bears the number 1254. According to 'Tiffany Silver Flatware' by Hood they recently came across documents in the Tiffany Archives. The docoments are the Pattern Books, which are the production records dating from 1851, when the Moore Co. started to manufacture solely for Tiffany. Even though the records are mostly of holloware, there are many other items. An occasional piece of flatware is listed. Entry no. 1254 is listed as 'Grape Scissors'. They show an example in the book, page 35, figure 36 that are identical to the ones offered. Very good condition.   « Less

Beautiful sterling silver gravy ladle in a crisp repousee design. It measures approximately 7 3/4" long and weighs approximately 3 troy ounces. The handle is covered on the top with a beautiful repousee design and the bowl, measuring 2 1/2" x 2 1/4", has a very pretty engraved floral and leaf design inside. There is an indentation inside the bowl starting at the end of the handle 1/2" thick and ending at the middle front of the bowl 1/4" thick. It is unusual and adds to the beauty of the decoration. See photos. Marks include STERLING and C. Kattleman. This would make a beautiful gift for someone special. Very good condition.   « Less

Beautiful sterling silver gravy ladle by the Whiting Manufacturing Company of New York NY. The pattern is called Imperial Queen and is approximately 7 1/2" long. The bowl measures 2 7/8" x 2". It weighs approximately 3 troy ounces. No monogram. Marks include the logo for the Whiting Manufacturing Company, STERLING, PAT. 1893, MERMOD(with the rest of the word or words undistinguishable. The Whiting Manufacturing Company of New York NY was in business between 1866 and 1926. They were a major manufacturer of fine quality flatware and holloware. The company was absorbed into the Gorham Company in 1926. Very good condition.   « Less

Beautiful large sized handled child's or christening cup by Ball Black & Company of New York NY. Approximately 3 7/8" tall and at the top it is 3 1/4" in diameter and 5.60 troy ounces. Monogrammed with what looks like E T C. Beautifully engraved scrolling design with beading at the bottom. The top has a stylistic acanthus leave design. Marked on the bottom BALL BLACK & CO, NEW YORK, and 925 over 1000 in a shield. The shield is a sign of quality in early American silver. The Ball Black & Company mark was used from 1851-1874. Very unusual and elaborate sterling silver figural bon bon server by Gorham. Approximately 9" long with the bowl 3". Weighs 6 troy ounces. Marks include the Gorham logo of the lion, anchor and G, STERLING and the number H79. The letter H may mean heavy because it is a heavy piece. The bowl is beautifully decorated with scrolls and swags with fruit in a gothic style. Above that is a lion on one side and a unicorn on the other standing atop banners holding a shield. On top of the shield is what appears to be a bull. Above that is a full bodied Henry VIII standing on a pedestal. He is very detailed front and back. Very good condition.   « Less

Beautiful sterling silver sugar tongs. Approximately 4 3/8" long. The pattern has a cherub or putti with scrolls and flowers surrounding him. The nips are rounded like spoons with a gold wash. There is no monogram. Marks include the leopards head, the lion walking and the small case e. The marks, J.W. and F.C.W. are for James Wakely and Frank Wheeler. They worked in the late 19th early 20th century. This piece is c.1900-01. Very good condition.   « Less
