The inside of the box is lined front,back and top with newspapers dated 1851,origin Boston.Colors are overall faded and there is considerable wear.Overall the box is fair to good condition relative to age nevertheless still a fine example of americana. This is indeed an unusual item. Very much used, very distressed but has loads of character. The dimensions:L:19,H:4:,and width not including wheels:1" makes for a very uncommon item. Speaking of wheels they are metal with remnants of original red paint with wonderful star-like "spokes" they also "wobble" on the axles which I believe was intentional.There are also traces of original green paint on the bottom.
