Antique Napoleonic Brass Bracelet Circa. 1830 - 1840 France During the reign of Napoleon, the Emporer needed cash (gold) to pay for his military adventures. He requested that all gold, especially gold jewelry be donated to the cause of his conquests. Thus, it was fashionable to wear costume jewelry to show your active support. This bracelet was created to resemble a 22K yellow gold bracelet much in vogue at the time. The style and craftsmanship of this reproduction is wonderful. The bracelet measures a full 7 1/4 inches and we have an additional link that will be provided. The bracelet is 1 1/2 inches wide and 1/16 inch deep Each link measures 1 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches. This is a fantastic antique pendant light with an unusual globe, made by Macbeth Evans Glass Company. Designer H. H. Blau filed a patent for these “inclosing globe” lights in 1929 (you can see a copy of the patent at http://www.freepatentsonline.com/1778305.pdf), and the shade is signed with the patent number. According to the patent, this pendant was designed to have a similar look to inverted dome chandeliers, but is completely enclosed to keep it clean inside. The fixture features a shade with a clear top and a translucent, bowl-shaped lower portion, supported by a sleek shade holder and a rod attached to a canopy. The rod features a joint that allows it to tilt, so that it can be mounted on a sloped ceiling. This light fixture is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the rim. The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The pendant measures 16” wide and 16” tall (body only) and 36” long overall.
