This is an unusual pair of antique figural cast bronze door backplates, dating from the late 1800’s and featuring a bird or mythological creature. These magnificent doorplates are ornamented with stylized foliate detail, crowned with the bird’s head at the top of the plate. These door plates are in excellent condition; each measures 7 ¼” by 2”. This is a wonderful antique industrial pendant light, dating from the 1930’s. The chandelier begins with a sleek nickel canopy, coming down in a rod to an understated fitter and a schoolhouse-type glass shade. This light fixture is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the rim; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. Georgian Diamond & Emerald Ring Circa. 1830 British This absolutely fabulous ring dates back to the end of the Georgian era and the beginnings of the Victorian Age. The ring is foil-backed, typical of Georgian era rings. However, the design (flower motif) and setting have a more modern "look" ascribed to the Victorian period. The center diamond is an old-mine cut with an approximate weight of .35 carat. There are (10) additional old single-cuts with an approximate weight of .80 carat and (2) cushion cut diamonds with an approximate weight of .06 carat. Total diamond weight is approximately 1.21 carats. All diamonds tested with a diamond tester. In addition, there are 20 table-cut natural emeralds with an approximate weight of .40 carat. All emeralds tested with refractive index liquid. The face of the ring measures 3/4 inch in diameter. Due to the detail on the shank, the ring can only be sized down without damage. Circa. 1720 -1740 British Giardinetto ring means literally a small garden ring. A type of finger ring of which the bezel is made in an openwork floral design and set with small gemstones of various colors. The stones are usually, but not invariably, arranged to form a bouquet of flowers, or a basket , or a vase holding flowers. Such rings were made in Italy in the late 17th and the 18th centuries. Also in England, where they were popular from the end of the 17th century until the end of the 18th. Those from the later period have open back settings. This ring has a closed (foil back) setting. The face of the ring measures 7/8 inch high and 3/4 inch wide. Silver back and 15K yellow gold top. Gold tested with 15K acid. Rubies and emeralds tested with refractive index liquid. Featured is a lovely antique purse from 1925. The cloth is woven in shades of rust in a foliage pattern, accented by faceted steel beads. The silver tone frame is embossed with a rose and basket design. The double chain handle features etched links. The interior is lined in iridescent blue silk and has one gathered pocket. The inside of the frame is stamped "PAT. DEC 17 1925". There is a push button closure at the top of the frame and a decorative ring on the front. Also included is the original matching mirror, which is backed in the same blue silk. Handle drop: approx. 7" Condition: Excellent for its age, however the silk lining has started to split and there is minor oxidation to the metal.
