Circa 1820-1840 Chinese Export Sacred Bird and Butterfly Hot Water Plate, This Fabulous Piece has the matching Gilded Dome Cover all in Excellent Condition. The bottom measures 10 1/2" in diameter and the warming handles are 11 1/2" from left to right. The gilded mushroom finial is just Fabulous. The diameter of the cover is 9 1/8". The total height to the top of the gilded filial is 5 1/2". Along with this fabulous Hot Water plate w/ Original Cover we have a nice selection of dinner plates and Shallow Soup Plates. Also a SBB Mug/Tankard and a Rare large Brush Pot. Coming in a few days we expect a Large Sacred Bird and Butterfly Soup Tureen with Original Underplate and Cover.   « Less

Victorian, circa 1870 George Jones Majolica ''Full Nest'' game pie dish and cover. The cover is molded with a partridge nestled amongst grasses and ferns, surrounded by her chicks. One chick is sat on its mother''s back, and another is tucked under her wing. Oval dish with two rustic branch handles. Decorated with scenes of rabbits grazing in foliage, surrounded by oak leaf and acorn moldings, set against a cobalt ground. Turquoise interior. Vent hole and three stilt marks to underside of cover. Mottled underside to dish with stilt marks, raised registration diamond for 27th December 1877, painted pattern number ''3371'' in reserve, and impressed ''GJ'' monogram. Similar piece in different color illustrated on front cover, ''The Collectors Encyclopedia of Majolica'' by Mariann Katz-Marks. Also illustrated figure 81, page 55, Schiffer''s ''George Jones Ceramics 1861-1951'' by Robert Cluett. Generally good. Dish: No restoration. Tight hairline where foot is joined to base. Travels 3/4 way around the foot. Almost invisible to exterior. More visible to interior. Slight wear to the cobalt ground. Kiln effect: some cobalt glaze run over the decoration. Cover: Small flake to the mother''s beak. Repair running across the cover, part of repair still visible as a tight hairline on the top. Restoration of one chick head. Two chick beaks restored. 8ins high, 13ins wide   « Less

Victorian, circa 1870 Minton Majolica game pie dish and cover. Rustic handles in the form of branches bound together with rope. Four claw feet. Cream basket weave ground with a panel on either side, one with a pheasant, the other with a hare, and sprigs of holly sprouting from the handles. Cover is surmounted by a hunting dog asleep beside a rifle, powder flask and game bag. Turquoise interior. Three stilt marks and a vent hole to reverse of cover. Three stilt marks to underside of dish with impressed maker''s marks ''MINTONS'' and ''964''. Vent hole underneath the feet. Good. Dish: Small flake to rim. Some wear to interior. Repair to one foot. Restored bruise to inner rim. Cover: No restoration. Slight wear to the dog''s back. 14ins wide, 8ins high   « Less

Mottled green and brown underside with impressed marks and painted ''5211'' in reserve. Cover is molded with a fish lying on a bed of reeds, which forms the handle. Pink interior. Three stilt marks to underneath of cover. Good. No hairlines. Cover: two small rim flakes. Repair across one corner. Dish: small chip to rim. A couple of shrinkage cracks where dish meets stand. Slight wear and heavy crazing to underside. No restoration to dish. 8.25ins by 7.5ins, 3.5ins high   « Less
