circa: 2000 width: 116 height: 32 length: 48 This gorgeous draw leaf table is handmade in England as a reproduction of a Georgian period antique. The solid oak, being treated to an elaborate finishing process that ends in a fine French polish, displays an incredibly rich complexion and a striking grain, while the barley twist legs are also quite beautiful. Of course, because this table is made from solid oak, it is remarkably sturdy, and with a stretcher that joins the thick, strong legs, it will be sure to last for decades to come. The convenient draw leaf design means that this table expands from 7.5'' to almost 10'' long. The undersides of the table ends are also lined with green felt, so operating the leaves will not leave scratches. For shipping, this table will come disassembled into the main table top, the two leaves and the base, which should make it much easier to set up in your home. « Less

circa: 2000 width: 27 height: 31 length: 16 This gorgeous burl walnut bachelors chest is handmade in England as a Georgian period reproduction. Today, both the design and the craftsmanship remain as beautiful a combination as they were in the 19th century. The burl walnut, for instance, being treated to an elaborate finishing process, displays a remarkably rich complexion and a striking grain. In lovely contrast with the walnut are the solid brass swan neck pulls and, of course, the bowl star inlay of satinwood and ebony. Optional distressing in the walnut also helps to give this chest a truly antique appearance. Structurally, this chest is as sturdy as it is beautiful, as it is made of solid wood with walnut veneers. Each drawer features hand-cut dovetails, while the shaped bracket feet promise to keep this chest standing for decades to come. Even the brushing slide retracts and pulls out with impressive smoothness. « Less

circa: 2000 width: 48 height: 34 length: 25 This English walnut file cabinet is handmade in England as a reproduction of a Georgian Period antique. The lovely burl walnut used in the making of this cabinet, being lightly hand-distressed, hand-finished and hand-waxed, displays a distinct, fine grain and a rich complexion that could only come from fine workmanship. The optional leather inlay on the top of the file cabinet, which is bordered by hand-worked embossing and antique style gold tooling, complements the burl walnut beautifully, while the antiqued solid-brass swan neck pulls also contrast well with the wood. Optional satinwood or walnut crossbanding around the file drawers places a nice emphasis on the antique style and class of the walnut and brass configuration, while shaped paneling on the sides combines with ogee bracket feet or plinth base to complete a traditional English antique style appearance. Each of the file drawers locks with an accompanying key and features hand-cut dovetailed joints, which are yet another indicator of fine craftsmanship. This fine English file cabinet will certainly function wonderfully for generations to come and would make a fantastic addition to any furniture collection! « Less

circa: 1890 width: 41 height: 46 length: 21 Upon first sight of this Victorian period chest, it is clear that it exhibits an incredible level of quality and detail. Crafted around 1890, the wood used in the making of this chest is a mix of flame mahogany, cathedral mahogany and rosewood banding. The banding runs along the edge of the bow front top as well as along the face of the chest, where it complements a small banding of flame mahogany at the top and skirt; on the skirt, the banding continues on the sides. This produces a kind of framing effect around the cathedral mahogany drawer fronts, which feature a lovely contrast of solid brass hardware. Uniquely, the turned feet remain in impeccable condition, indicating that this chest was not only finely crafted but also well maintained. The four large drawers, of course, were constructed with hand-cut dovetails, yet another indicator of fine quality. The top has developed some separations between the boards, which naturally occur in all solid wood furniture (this chest is solid oak with thick mahogany veneers), although the separations were filled in during a recent restoration, which also featured a new French polish, which basically involves a new, revitalizing coat of wax over the wood. Overall, therefore, given its incredibly strong structure, this chest remains in excellent condition for a piece of its age. « Less

circa: 2000 width: 98 height: 94 length: 14 Organize your office in style with this handmade triple bookcase. If you are familiar with antique English furniture, then you know: traditional English furniture consistently features a fluid combination between aesthetic mastery and enduring utility. This bookcase is certainly no exception. Treated to an elaborate finishing process, the burl walnut displays a rich complexion and a striking grain, while the Georgian style moulding and break front design look especially striking. With storage space totaling at an impressive eighteen shelves--three of which are contained within the locking cabinets--this bookcase has plenty to offer for your library or office. Additionally, the exterior shelf space is completely adjustable by means of an alligator bracket system, which was popular during the Georgian and Victorian periods. Of course, because this bookcase is handmade by a third-generation English cabinetmaker, it is very sturdy, containing thick, strong shelves and resting on a firm plinth base. And don''t worry about moving this large bookshelf around, since it disassembles into the three sections demarcated by the break front design, and this is how the piece will ship. « Less
