Circa 1850 Chinese Export Blue Canton Pair of Rare Candlesticks. Pairs of Blue Canton Candlesticks are a Rarity. This Pair measures 7 1/2" in height. The base measures a tad over 3 1/2" in diameter. Both of these candlesticks have a chip on the top rim. One of the candlesticks has two old staple repairs 6" from the base,1 1/2" apart and located at the rain and cloud border on both sides. It is simply amazing that the snuffer has survived all these years. Very rarely do you find one with original snuffer. Circa 1840 Chinese Export Rose Medallion Chamber Stick with the mold for the snuffer to go over but as is the case mostly, the delicate snuffer is missing. Many times the missing rose medallion snuffers were replaced with custom made silver snuffers. Also note on the chamber stick bottom part the beautiful decoration(persian market) and the rare tobacco leaves just above and ending just below of this form and if the original snuffer was present. it would be a complete rarity. All this item need is a "snuffer". The diameter of the base is 5 3/4" in width and the height of this chamberstick is 3 1/2". Good Quality and in Excellent Condition. The addition of the tobacco leaves add to the rarity of this particular candlestick.   « Less

Circa 1795 Pair of Chinese Export Famille Rose Elephant Candlesticks Jos Sticks Candlesticks. This is not the 19th Century Jos Sticks that you Occasionally see at a show or on Ebay. And if you find the 19th. Century Jos Stick--You find single ones, Never or Hardly a Pair. This pair is in Fantastic Excellent Condition of the utmost highest quality and No Restoration. They measure 5 3/4" to the top of the candle stick holder and 6 1/4" from the head to the rear. For those who have not seen much information on these rare items, The Book Chinese Export Porcelain by Herbert Schiffer in picture 125 on page 50 shows a example of a late 18th century pair. Circa 1920 Chinese Export Pair of Candle Sticks. They measure 7" in height and 7" from tail to head. Form of a Elephant with decorated green turquoise candle stick holders. Jos stick form elephant, polychrome decoration. First half of the 20TH Century. sometimes referred to as jos sticks. Elephant candlesticks were originally made by the chinese for export in the Late 18TH Century and the Early 19TH Century. This pair was made probably around the early part of the 20TH Century, 1920-1930's. One of the tusks have been broken. Other than that they are in decent condition at a less than decent price. A large and early pair of Chelsea porcelain Bocage Figural Candlesticks with attractive characters holding chicken posing in front of the bocage. They date from slightly before the are from the gold anchor period of Chelsea 1758-1770 and are in good condition with some damage to flower tips, one chicken head is replaced, a flower from the mans hand is missing, and minor chips to some of the leaves and flower tips, cracks to base possibly from the factory as the are no chips or other evidence of damage.
