Antique opaline glass vase decorated with enamel, jewels and gilding. Made by Moser, Bohemia (now Czech Republic) 19th century. Approximately 3 1/2 inches high. Narrow base widens to a full-bodied roundness and ending in a small collared neck. The glass is soft amethyst in colour, very pearly opalescent. The upper area, around the shoulders and the neck are decorated: the neck with very rich gilding and piped enamel scrolling highlights, interspersed with actual raised jewels (made of glass, not enamel), in blue and red - like sapphires and rubies. The shoulders have a deep iron grey pattern, outlined in gold that could show Russian influence. Also decorated with piped scrolls and set with raised jewels. This pattern alternates with very delicate enamel flowers and minute gilded bubbles leading the eye towards the bottom of the vase. « Less

A superb example of Art Nouveau organic form is this two-part glass vase, a tribute to Venice's ancient connection to the sea. A pair of "sea fronds" -- actually a linked tube of pink glass, pulled and formed -- rises to a height of 12-1/2 inches above their support of shaded red "coral." The vase is in mint condition and is approximately four inches at the widest point. Circa 1900. « Less

Tall and glamorous, this finely crafted glass overlay vase is a real tour de force. The underlying white glass layer lends a varied luster to the turquoise blue, rather like ancient Persian glazes. The tall-necked baluster form of the piece and the intricate palmate and dotted designs enameled on the surface, echo this appeal to Orientalism. There is a hallmark that I have not deciphered, a script letter "A" in an artist's palette. English or Continental, circa 1880. Condition is almost mint, except for some wear to the slight gilded areas. Approximately 11 inches tall by 6-1/2 inches in diameter. Very stunning. « Less

A quite beautiful good Victorian Coralene vase with excellent coverage over the mother of pearl glass vase. Condition is virtually pristine for being 120 or so years old. More »
A quite beautiful good Victorian Coralene vase with excellent coverage over the mother of pearl glass vase. Condition is virtually pristine for being 120 or so years old. Spectacular piece with great color contrast. Circa 1890 and stands about 6'' tall. The Webb ''propellor mark'' that we now know for fact that this mark is the mark of the Harrach glass factory used mainly during the Victorian era, from around 1890 to 1920. the Harrach glass factory is one of the oldest glass houses still in operation today (2012 will be it''s 300th anniversary!). Harrach was initially run by Count Harrach, and opened in 1712. It''s located in the small town of Harrachov in Northern Bohemia, less then a mile from Poland, in what was once part of Austria, then Czechoslovakia, and is now the Czech Republic. A very unusual shape and form of a pond scene with water lilies. In addition to the unusual shape this vase is an unusual color, blue being a more desirable color and a bit rarer. Back lighting the vase reveals that it is multilayer with green coming through in the depth of the pond water shading to blue on the surface. Very interesting and realistic. Great piece and totally authentic and original. Stands 7.5'' tall and 4.5'' deep. Fantastic piece. No damage and circa 1900. Status: For Sale Reference#: 122_2283 Condition: ex Year: 1900 « Less
