Circa 1920 Chinese Export Pair of Rooster Shallow Soup Plates 8 1/2" in Diameter and 1 1/2" in Depth. One of these soups has a rim chip that is repaired and the other has two hairline from middle of plate to the rim. Fresh out of a house that had several pieces of this rare pattern. Even though the plates have the made in china mark which dates the pieces to C. 1920, these soup plates have the quality of a earlier manufacture.   « Less

The other two have no mark as that would date them before 1891. the butterflies that have the blue wing are the later pieces and the black wing plates are from the 19TH Century. Circa 1820 Chinese Export Rose Mandarin Exact Pair of luncheon plates measuring 8" in diameter. Rarely do you find a exact pair of plates in rose mandarin. Most of the time it is a similar pair. Both of these plates are fabulous in every way. They were recently purchased out of a New York Estate. This size plate is often referred to as a dessert or luncheon plate. Excellent Mandarin Quality in in Very Good Condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. The colors are fantastic and bright. Very minimal wear which is rare for a plate 200 years old. Typical mandarin scenes of five ladies in a court yard scene. Nice and abundant gold in the hair. The border of the plate is decorated with roses, butterflies and other greenery with a gilded rim.   « Less

Circa 1750-1775 Two Chinese Export Plates with the same Armorial Crest. One of the plates is a 9 1/4" Shallow Soup Plate and the other plate is a 9 3/8" Dinner Plate. At first glance you would swear they are a Identical Pair,like I did. The crest on both plates are beautiful. Both decorated crests are in very good condition as are the plates. The border on the outside rim are very nice and in good condition also. The quality on both plates are very nice. Very Good Quality. No damage. I have detected very little restoration if any at all. We have checked both volumes of David Howard Books on verifying the coat of arms and have not found the family this wonderful crest would have been made for. We feel that it would be a family from continental or dutch background.   « Less
