Antique opaline glass vase decorated with enamel, jewels and gilding. Made by Moser, Bohemia (now Czech Republic) 19th century. Approximately 3 1/2 inches high. Narrow base widens to a full-bodied roundness and ending in a small collared neck. The glass is soft amethyst in colour, very pearly opalescent. The upper area, around the shoulders and the neck are decorated: the neck with very rich gilding and piped enamel scrolling highlights, interspersed with actual raised jewels (made of glass, not enamel), in blue and red - like sapphires and rubies. The shoulders have a deep iron grey pattern, outlined in gold that could show Russian influence. Also decorated with piped scrolls and set with raised jewels. This pattern alternates with very delicate enamel flowers and minute gilded bubbles leading the eye towards the bottom of the vase. « Less

Antique pair of opaline glass bowls, each hand painted with a scene of little animals hunting innocents. Possibly French or English and date to 19th century - about 1880 - More »
Antique pair of opaline glass bowls, each hand painted with a scene of little animals hunting innocents. Possibly French or English and date to 19th century - about 1880 - 1900. Each bowl is 8 inches in diameter and 2 1/2 inches high. Bowls each stand on 3 round, gilded feet. The borders are gilded and have a band of superb lilac, which looks very French. Another gold circle encloses the lilac band. Within the bowl is an exquisitely handpainted vignette of animals. In one scene a very naughty looking dog ( Dachshund by the looks of him), is about to pounce on a gaggle of ducklings, who flee to the water, beautifully painted in deep blue in the foreground. Flowers and foliage surround the animals. In the other painting, a sly fox peeps through the long hay in front of which a group of bunnies is nibbling on large leaves in a little clearing. One rabbit with a stalk in his mouth seems to have just caught sight of the fox. Details of both paintings are superb - clearly painted by a masterful artist. They are the height of Victorian cute combined with love of moral tales and very likely these paintings are depictions of a fable or moral story. The bowls are in very good condition. Both paint and gilding look great. One bowl has a fleabight on the rim - so small I couldn''t begin to measure it. No other chips/cracks/damage/restoration of any sort. Status: For Sale Reference#: 3666 Condition: good Year: 1870 Title: ANTIQUE PR OPALINE GLASS BOWLS PAINTED DOG FOX HUNTING « Less

For sale I have a Lovely Cordial made by The Stevens and Williams Glass Company of Stourbridge, West Midlands England. The piece stands 6 1/4" tall. The foot has a diameter More »
For sale I have a Lovely Cordial made by The Stevens and Williams Glass Company of Stourbridge, West Midlands England. The piece stands 6 1/4" tall. The foot has a diameter of 2 3/4" and the opening at the top has a diameter of 3 1/8" outside measurement.
The Cordial displays a very beautiful Translucent Light Jade Green Cup that rises up from a Round Opaline Foot. The Cup sits on a nicely applied Opaline Stem. The Glass Blowing is so perfect it appears that the Cup and the Stem were blown from 1 piece of glass. This is not the case as this is a 3 part Cordial. There is the round Foot, the applied stem with the Cup being fused to the Stem to look like 1 piece.
The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Piece is unsigned as is the case with most of these. They more than likely had a Paper Label that simply fell off over time. There are a few white inclusions from the mixtures of Opaline and Jade along with an air bubble in the Cup portion. This does not affect the Value what so ever.
These pieces are commonly confused with Steuben as this Glass looks similar. Steuben never made this shape and the S&W Jades are more of a pastel where as Steuben's very much more Vibrant. Steuben did make a similar one but the Jade on Steuben is much denser and not so translucent. Frederick Carder worked for Stevens & Williams from 1881-1902. It is very possible that he created this formula for them during his employment with them. It is known that this Glass was Not produced during his tenure.
This is a quality piece of Art Glass and I'm sure the lucky winner will not be disappointed with their purchase. This piece was made Circa 1915-1928. I firmly believe it was produced to compete with Steuben's Jades and Rosalines at the time. « Less
