This charming elf-type fellow - thumbing his nose as he sits astride the handle - adds a note of humor to an otherwise utilitarian object. Lifting the handle exposes the direct gear at the pivot point and raises the well-worn blade. Years of use and exposure have imparted great character to the piece.
