Possibly a lady’s pipe, this piece is delicate and slender with a narrow shank and stem, measuring 3†tall and ½- ¾†in diameter, with the widest point at the bowl. There is a brass ring around the shank with a small loop, likely to connect it with a chain to be worn around the neck. The silver cap is engraved with the initials JA and the year 1898. Age and use have turned the pipe a deep auburn red to brown in colour. An interesting addition to any pipe collection!
