A very fine Imperial Russian silver and niello tobacco box dated 1884. With a classic Imperial period Dacha on the lid and a floral surround cartouche bearing the initials SD on the back. The gilt interior bears the date 1884 as well as an assayers touch mark on both the lid and bottom. In excellent condition with only sight wear from use and age. Size is three and five eights by two and one eighth.
