This lighter seems to be to well finished to be catagorized as "Trench Art". The symmetry and finish suggest commercial work to be sold to patriotic citizens and soldiers. The subject also suggests that it may be post Spanish American thru WWI. The Federal shield and Eagle are of that period. A nice quality addition to any military or lighter collection. Either an intended thumb rest in the center of the eagle or a slight dent. 2.2" to top of spark wheel, 1.5" wide.
