Sterling silver cigarette or tobacco box made in Sheffield, England, 1931 for the Mills Cigarette Briston and London by Mappin & Webb. Measures: 3 3/8'' tall. Diameter is 2 7/8''. Cylindrical shape. Simple decoration on side of lid aid lifting it off. The top is engraved with a sun within a star. Around this is a circle and Bristol and London W.D & H Mills. There are hallmarks on the top of the lid as well as the side of the jar. These include the Sheffield Crown, Sterling lion, date mark ''O'' and makers M&W ie Mappin & Webb. Wonderful patina.
