Battersea / Bristol Enamel gilt-metal-mounted snuff box late 18th century made Staffordshire, England and also known as South Staffordshire enamel. Measures 3 5/8'' long, 2'' wide and 1 1/4'' high. Rectangular form, the hinged cover painted with two ladies and a companion fishing from the banks of a tranquil river with their dog, the sides and inside of the cover with sprays of flowers on a white ground. Some minor restoration to the bottom, but otherwise very good condition.
