Victorian, circa 1860 Miniature pair Staffordshire pen holders/spill vases, each modeled as a fox gazing up at a bird which is sat in a tree above its nest. Shredded clay decoration to branches, ground and around the nest. Pink spill interior. Pen hole in the base. Dull gilt base line and decoration. Painted mark to underside. Generally good. Right facing: Kiln effect: staining. Bird and fox ears restored. Left facing: Kiln effect: shrinkage crack to fox neck. Restoration to base side and right hand branches. Restoration of bird''s tail. 4ins high
