Antique French marquetry fruitwood lapdesk. This "lapdesk" is French c1875. Made from fruitwood with a truly beautiful marquetry design. This lap desk also has a hand painted floral center medallion with a brass ormolu frame. The interior is fitted and covered in rosewood veneer. There are two cut glass inkwells with their original brass covers. There are also two small drawers that can only be seen when the inside lid is opened. This fineFrench lap desk measures 13 and one half inches wide by 11 inches deep when closed and 17 and one half inches deep when open. There is some minor veneer missing inside and one of the brass trim pieces on the bottom front is missing which is hard to notice.
