Original old Carbo Animalis apothecary bottle from the 1800's, label under glass with slight chipping on 2 corners of the label. Has ground glass stopper and original powder inside. 8 1/2" tall x 3" wide. Carbo Animalis is a charcoal made from animal bone, used externally to treat cancerous discharges, foul ulcers and gangrenous wounds. Used internally for dyspepsia, gastralgia, pyrosis and epidemic cholera. This bottle was found in the basement of an old pharmacy.
