From a Scottish collection, this small, egg shaped spice container is the first we have encountered. Crafted in wood with a threaded closure, it apparently contained cinnamon. The exterior has a textured finish and the interior remains natural. While the piece comes from a Scottish collection, we are unable to give a specific attribution. It is well known that quality travelers in the 17th an 18th C carried their own spices but beyond the documentation surrounding fine silver boxes little scholarship can be found. In very good condition with one small crack. Size: 1.25" X .75".
