Eckenstein Sport Münzinger Iron Forged Mountaineer Crampons, pair of 10 points model, named after their inventor Oscar Eckenstein (1859 -1921). Eckenstein was a passionate climber and innovator, and he developed theses crampons in 1908 and two years later with the help of Henry Grivel of Courmayeur, on the Italian side of the Mont Blanc, they became commercially available. The crampons are marked with the model name, the size 42 and the retailer's name Sport Münzinger, München. The crampons doesn't have anymore the leather straps.
Date of forging, circa: 1910-1920.
Dimensions: 14 cm wide x 29.5 cm high (5½" wide x 11½" high).
