Rochette was a very important French artist specializing in paintings on porcelain. His works are of the highest quality and very rare. The porcelain plaque is framed in a beautiful gilt bronze and champleve enamel handled frame inset in a gilt bronze footed tray. It could be hung on the wall, used as a centerpiece or displayed in a cabinet. This is a beautiful and very rare Objet d' Art. Both the painting on porcelain plaque and the champleve enamel tray are in superb original condition. From handle to handle it measures 12 1/2 inches across. The diameter of the frame is 9 1/2 inches. The diameter of the porcelain plaque is 7 1/2 inches. When used as a tray or centerpiece it measures 1 1/2 inches high to the top of the handle.
