This is a lovely set of little boy figural bookends made in France of gold washed spelter and mounted on green marble bases. The cherubic children sit back to back. The little boys are naked babies and some of the finish has worn off. The green and white marble is chipped but the bookend are vintage Art Deco and perfect for their function. I have owned them since the late 1990''s, I bought them in France and they were part of the fixtures of my Santa Monica antiques store that is now closed. I have sold most of my first edition books and find I need fewer bookends. It is rare for me to let bookends go. The bookends each measure 6 1/2'' long by 3 1/2'' deep by 5 1/2'' high. They are visually charming. Status: For Sale Reference#: 6053 Condition: good some wear Year: 1915 Country: France Height: 5.5 in. (13.97 cm) Depth: 3.5 in. (8.89 cm) Width: 6.5 in.
