A fine quality pewter plate obviously made for someone of rank and importance. Appears to be Paul Esterhasy Furst von Galantha dated 26 March 1713 for this childs birth. Nice coat of arms or family crest. 9'' across. Good condition nice seals on verso. Provenance: This piece was owned by Helen Nelson who's family founded the Nelson Atkins museum of Art in Kansas City and specialized in Asian Art. They also founded the Kansas City Star which is still the main newspaper of KC. This was purchased in the 1930s as most all of her oriental items were this was lot #861 at her sale.
