A number of Engine Companies No. 2 existed in 1834 -- among them are Chicago, St. Louis, New York City, Buffalo, and many in New England -- but it is difficult to pinpoint the origin of this piece without further research. Crafted of thick leather and hand-painted, it bears brass rings for a handle which is no longer with the bucket.
