Circa 1890 Small Majolica Palissy wall plate with a snake attacking a lizard in it''s burrow to the center, surrounded by a moth, frog and grub, all on mossy ground. Brown reverse with two hanging holes on the foot. Three stilt marks, impressed maker''s mark ''JOSE A. CUNHA PORTUGAL CALDAS RAINHA'' inside the foot. Good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. Two chips to the foot. Minor flaking to the moss, and a flake to the rim. 6ins diameter
