Circa 1890 Small Majolica Palissy wall plate modeled with an eel in the center on top of three various fish. Brown mottled ground with green shredded clay around the edge. Two hanging holes on the foot. Impressed maker''s mark ''JOSE A. CUNHA PORTUGAL CALDAS RAINHA'' and three stilt marks inside the foot. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. Minor chipping to the shredded clay. Kiln effect: glaze accumulation to the foot. Restored chip to tail of fish and eel. 6.5ins diameter
