Circa 1890 Cunha Majolica Palissy wall plate with a rabbit, two moths, a frog, a grub, a lizard and a snake on mossy ground. Shaped rim with brown to under rim. Two hanging holes on the foot rim. Cream glaze inside the foot rim along with three stilt marks and impressed maker''s mark ''JOSE A. CUNHA PORTUGAL CALDAS RAINHA''. Good. No hairlines. Chip to snake''s tongue. Flaking to the moss. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack to one hanging hole, snake, two frog legs and one lizard leg. Restoration to rim. Restored chip to one wing of each moth, end of lizard''s tail, and moss above hare. Restoration of one frog foot. 9ins diameter
