Very interesting and well done enamel plaque of two lovers running before a waterfall. Cherub frolic and offer the two a goblet. Antique and probably Viennese or Swiss enamel its a beautiful and mildly erotic scene. Large by enamel standards at almost 6'' wide and 4'' tall in the frame it measures 9.5'' by 8''. Circa 1850 possibly the figures are of Daphnis and Chloe as written by the ancient Greek writer Longus. Great piece in excellent condition.
