Circa 1890 Large Majolica Palissy wall plate with a lobster, two crabs and mussels on green seaweed ground. Shrimps and goose barnacles around the edge. Light brown reverse with two hanging holes on the foot. Cream glaze inside the foot along with three stilt marks and impressed maker''s marks ''JOSE A. CUNHA PORTUGAL CALDAS RAINHA''. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. No flakes. Slight wear to the lobster''s back and three crab legs. Kiln effect: two small glaze misses inside the foot. Repair to the lobster''s front right leg. Restored chip to lobster''s right ''antennae''. 12.25ins diameter
