Circa 1890 Cunha Majolica Palissy wall plate decorated with three lizards, one retreating into its burrow. Also, a frog, a grub and two moths sit on green, mossy ground. Scalloped rim. Brown and cream reverse with hanging hole on the foot. Impressed maker''s mark ''JOSE A. CUNHA PORTUGAL CALDAS RAINHA'' and three stilt marks inside the foot. Generally good. No cracks. No hairlines. Some flakes to the moss. Slight wear to reverse. Restored chip to the foot. Restored chip to all four moth wings. Retouching to two lizard tails. 9ins diameter
