Circa 1890 Majolica Palissy wall plate with three frogs surrounding a central pool, on green mossy ground. Mottled glazes in the center. Brown reverse with two hanging holes on the foot. Stilt marks inside the foot along with impressed maker''s mark ''M.MAFRA CALDAS PORTUGAL'' and inscribed ''6''. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. Some small flakes to under rim and foot. Minor flaking to the moss. Restored chip to nose and mouth of one frog. Restored chip to foot. Retouched flake to eye of another frog. 9ins diameter
