Circa 1890 Mafra Majolica Palissy wall plate decorated with two lizards and a scarab beetle, all on mossy ground. Brown reverse with two wall hanging holes to foot. Three stilt marks and impressed mark ''M. MAFRA CALDAS PORTUGAL'' inside the foot. Good. Some small flakes to mossy ground. Kiln effects: chips associated with stilt marks, glaze accumulation to the foot. Repaired crack to under rim. Repair to head of one lizard. Retouched flake to hind toe of the other lizard. Retouching to beetle and the moss in places. 8ins diameter
