Circa 1870 French (Barbizet?) Majolica Palissy wall plate. Langoustine on a pond in the center. Snake, frog, leaves, reeds, snail, lizard, shells and a moth around the edge, molded on blue ground. Blue reverse with brown spots. Two hanging holes on the foot. Three stilt marks inside the foot. Generally good. No hairlines. Chip to frog''s bottom lip. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack to fern leaves and moth''s wing. Restoration to two sections of the rim. Restortion of five langoustine legs and both pincers, snake''s head and two hind legs of lizard. 10.5ins diameter
