Circa 1890 Large Cezar Majolica Palissy wall plate with a snake attacking a frog to the front, along with two lizards, a beetle and another frog, all on mossy ground. Cream reverse with two hanging holes and stilt marks on the foot rim. Impressed maker''s mark ''J.C. CEZAR CALDAS'' inside the foot rim. Generally good. No restoration. No hairlines. No chips. Flaking to the foot rim, some associated with stilt marks. Flake to hind foot of one frog. Kiln effect: shrinkage crack inside the foot rim. 11ins diameter
