A Rare Dutch Mirror Glass Plaque Copper-Wheel Engraved with Naval Scene. Circa 1760-70 Possibly C.C. Schroder. The demi-lune mirrored window depicts a naval scene with three men in a boat rowing toward a three-mast ship in rough seas; in original walnut veneer frame. Dimensions: 11 3/8 in x 9 1/2 in ( 28.9 cm x 24.1 cm), framed Provenance: Sewall family, Bath, Maine. C.C. Schroder was a Dutch glass-engraver of Delft, who decorated flat planes by wheel engraving.(fl. 1760''s)
