Exceptionally beautiful Parian statue of a young couple about to kiss. Superbly modeled, with a wonderful feel for the human form, you can almost feel the passion in this mostly nude couple as they embrace. Lovely from every angle, with only a fig leaf and loose drape, the young lovers have their arms wrapped around each other and each one has a hand on the others hair. Fine white Parian porcelain, unmarked except for impressed numbers on the base, The quality of this piece suggests one of the fine makers of the 19th century. 12 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" base diameter x 5" widest. Fine condition.
